STN scripting is a mini programming language used to write a repeatable and adaptable series of commands and statements.
Scripts can be useful if you:
Conduct the same searches on a regular basis.
Have a consistent overall search strategy, but substitute one or more variables when running the queries.
Maintain a list of search terms (e.g., keywords, CAS Registry Numbers) that are frequently used.
Scripts can be written offline in a simple text editor such as Notepad and imported/edited in STNext.
You may write a script directly in STNext or create a search script from an imported list of terms.
Note: See Script Examples and Using Scripts in STNext to learn more on how scripts can streamline your search strategy.
